Hi, I’m John Maciel, a full-time mixing engineer, producer, and educator with nearly two decades of experience helping musicians and producers bring their creative visions to life. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of coaching hundreds of aspiring engineers at URM Academy, the world’s leading online school for rock and metal production.

I’ve also worked with Riffhard, led by John Browne of Monuments, where I helped guitarists and songwriters refine their craft. My journey includes working alongside Beau Burchell—producer, mixer, and founder of the iconic band Saosin—where I collaborated on projects with renowned artists like ERRA, MooseBlood, and Hail The Sun.

    We can cover as many topics on your 1 hour call as you'd like, but this isn’t about trying to ram as much in to a session as possible, you will get value from depth not quantity.
